Passionate Drum Teacher

Welcome to Drum Lessons Birmingham! My name is Jonno and I am a professional drum teacher based here in Birmingham, teaching students of all ages and abilities how to play the drums.

I have many years of teaching experience, helping students of beginner levels upwards to develop their drum playing ability.

My name is Jonno Gaze and I am a percussionist, composer and improviser based in Birmingham, UK.

Born in 1999, I grew up playing djembe and drum-kit with friends and family, singing songs and making lots of noise. At school, I played in various bands and orchestras before finding musicians that really inspired me to make music.

From 2016-2017 I was an Aldeburgh Young Musician, where I was lucky enough to meet musicians from different cultures all over the world who celebrated creativity, collaboration and the artistic nature of every individual.

“Jonno is a friendly and effective drum teacher, able to help students of all ages and abilities through his tailored drum lessons here in Birmingham.”

I felt most alive when playing with others and improvising, which I still do now, and ultimately wanted to study music further after realising my heroes also studied.

I pride myself on my friendly and effective teaching style and would be delighted to help you to learn to play the drums.

To find out more about my drum lessons, as well as to book in your first session don't hesitate to email me on info@drumlessonsbirmingham.co.uk.

COVID19 Update: One to one lessons are still available in person, but social distancing measures have been introduced to ensure the safety of all participants and in accordance with Musician’s Union guidelines. The teaching studio is a large and well ventilated space. It now has two drum kits set up more than two metres apart, allowing for demonstration without the sharing of equipment. There is now at least a half hour gap between each lesson taught, in order to clean all contact points properly and to minimise the amount of people in the building at any one time. Those taking lessons are required to wear a mask and to bring their own drumsticks if possible.
