Passionate Drum Teacher

Welcome to Drum Lessons Birmingham! My name is Nathan and I am a professional drum teacher based here in Birmingham, teaching students of all ages and abilities how to play the drums.

I have many years of teaching experience, helping students of beginner levels upwards to develop their drum playing ability.

I am a qualified music teacher, having gained Bachelor of Music (Jazz) from Birmingham Conservatoire, as well as Grade 8 on the drums.

My drum tuition is tailored to the needs and interests of each pupil, whilst offering a holistic approach to musicianship with an emphasis on learning from real musical examples.

Music from a broad spectrum of styles is covered, combined with exercises designed to address the technical demands of the instrument. This aims to develop fundamental skills that equip students for the challenges of real life playing situations and at the same time making sure practice is rewarding and fun.

“Nathan is a friendly and effective drum teacher, able to help students of all ages and abilities through his tailored drum lessons here in Birmingham.”

Alongside my drum lessons, I also work as a professional drummer, often playing jazz/improvised music but also have experience across a diverse range of musical situations. This experience as a professional drummer helps me to teach effectively across a broad spectrum of abilities, from beginners through to advanced musicians.

I pride myself on my friendly and effective teaching style and would be delighted to help you to learn to play the drums.

To find out more about my drum lessons, as well as to book in your first session don't hesitate to email me on info@drumlessonsbirmingham.co.uk or call 0121 751 1065.

COVID19 Update: One to one lessons are still available in person, but social distancing measures have been introduced to ensure the safety of all participants and in accordance with Musician’s Union guidelines. The teaching studio is a large and well ventilated space. It now has two drum kits set up more than two metres apart, allowing for demonstration without the sharing of equipment. There is now at least a half hour gap between each lesson taught, in order to clean all contact points properly and to minimise the amount of people in the building at any one time. Those taking lessons are required to wear a mask and to bring their own drumsticks if possible.
